Current Position of Brighton
With just 34 points from 30 matches, they are currently at 13th place. It was a big blow for Arsenal as they suffered a big 3-0 defeat vs Crystal Palace in their last EPL match. To qualify for UEFA Champions League next season, they must remain within the top 4 and their hopes have faded slightly with this unexpected loss.
Now Brighton is probably the biggest hurdle they have to overcome and gain momentum. If we talk about Brighton, they are currently at 13th position, not looking too dangerous. But is it the actual scenario? No, they are going to put a huge effect in the top 4 at the business end. Why?
All the contenders for the 4th spot, Man U, Arsenal and Tottenham have upcoming matches against them. Brighton will try to fetch points from those matches. This has made the scenario more interesting.
Arsenal boss Arteta will have to go through many sleepless nights this week because of injuries, the 12th man he has to face other than the opponents. Their dependable Tierney has been left out of the squad as the left-back will undergo surgery.
Another big name on the list is Thomas Partey, definitely a huge blow for the gunners. There may be a slight relief for the gunners as Nicolas Pepe has come back to the squad. It’s a home game for Arsenal but their shaky defense may struggle against veteran Striker Danny Welbeck.
Besides Arsenal, Spurs and of course the Red Devils are eagerly waiting for the clash. If Arsenal looses a single point it will heavily benefit both of them, especially Spurs.
In the upcoming days, Arsenal has three very tough matches against Chelsea, Man U and Tottenham, hence they would try their best to win the other games and boost their confidence. So, above all Saturday’s encounter is going to be very interesting.
