Arsenal star Bukayo Saka has made his contract demands known amid reports linking the Gunners star away from the Emirates. Saka wants to play in the Champions League next season and renewal will likely depend on whether the Gunners qualify for it or not.

The winger has scored four goals and provided six assists in 21 matches so far this season and is one of Arsenal’s key men. Arsenal could struggle to keep hold of Bukayo Saka without Champions League football next season, according to The Daily Mail. The Englishman has been one of the best players at the Emirates recently, with his contract expiring in the summer of 2024.

ARSENAL TO OFFER SAKA NEW DEAL

Saka has enjoyed a rapid rise at Arsenal and has become a key figure in the starting XI under Mikel Arteta.

Premier League clubs such as Liverpool are alert to the situation and could make a move for the Englishman if he decides to leave.

With Saka currently pocketing around £35,000-a-week, Arsenal is keen to tie him down to a longer deal on improved terms. However, a lot depends on them securing the top 4 this season.

According to The Daily Mail, Saka is looking at compatriots Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden who are Champions League regulars and wants to experience the same.

Saka’s current contract expires in 2024 and the Gunners don’t want him to enter the last 2 years of his deal. As seen previously, many players try to force their exits once they reach the last 2 years. Therefore Arsenal is cautious with their player and want to offer him a new contract with a bump up in wages.

Mikel Arteta when asked about other clubs’ interest in Saka, said:

“I think that’s great news when you have a lot of talk and people willing for your players, it’s a really good sign. They should be proud because that means they are doing extremely good work.”
