Arsenal to move ahead without Thomas Partey

Arsenal

Arsenal had a very good season and are currently fighting for title with Manchester City. The narrow 1-0 win against United in the Premier League at Old Trafford has kept hopes of gunners alive in the title race. Although managing to take away all three points Arsenal didn’t seem to their best against the red devils. One player who Arsenal will look specifically is Thomas Partey.

Thomas Partey has been very inconsistent this season. He missed 26 fixtures throughout the season. In the match against Spurs, the Ghanaian international had an amazing display and showed what is is capable of. Along with 93% pass accuracy, he had two dribbles and two tackles. However he was not seen to be consistent in the match against Manchester United.

Partey was not able to control the ball and gave away the possesion two times to the hosts in the first half. Fortunately it didn’t cost the gunners. In second half, Partey was unable to clear the ball but again Man United failed to convert the chance. However his stats still are very good against United. Partey has 93% pass accuracy, one clearance, one interception, two tackles and has also won two ground duels. Stats according to Sofascore.

Although having good stats, Partey has shown that he is definately lacking something. This can be obviously seen through his performance against United. From what is seen Arsenal may take decesion against the 30 year old midfielder. Maybe the match against Everton which is the last match of the season may turn out the last match Partey plays at the Emirates stadium for Arsenal.

Who can replace Partey at Arsenal

Arsenal have been very heavily linked with spanish star Martin Zubimendi. Many reports are saying that Zubimendi will replace Partey at the end of the season. The Emirates will witness the pairing of Zubimendi with Declan Rice next season and hope that it will turn out great. Partey if leaving, deserves a good farewell for his great spell of 4 years at North London.
