Arsenal are on the verge of announcing yet another transfer signing this summer Matt Turner from New England Revolution.
Despite sources suggesting a “done deal”, Arsenal is yet to make an official announcement on the goalkeeper. However, the MLS club confirmed the keeper’s exit from the club and will join the Gunners this summer.
The new reinforcement in the keeper’s position appears like a decent buy for the next season. Turner is set to undergo his medical soon with the North London club.
The busy Transfer window for Arsenal
Arsenal have already confirmed the signings of three players in the initial half of the transfer window. Now, with the inclusion of Matt Turner, the club will have made its fourth signing.
The Gunners seem to be in full swing in the transfer window making all the necessary signings before the next season kicks off.
Moreover, the new keeper at the Emirates is set to play second fiddle to Aaron Ramsdale in the forthcoming season. However, Turner is gearing up for his move to work under manager Mikel Arteta.
In an interview with SkySports, he stated that he would give everything to become the best keeper. Vowed to push Ramsdale for the No.1 shirt, Turner wishes to cement his spot as a regular.
He said-
“I’m coming in to push him and become the best goalkeeper I can become.”
Mikel Arteta would be delighted to have secured his services at the Emirates for the next season. Fans too would want their players to have competitive spirits and fight for titles.
However, the final announcement is still yet to be made by the Gunners. It is expected to be made on July 1st as Turner’s contract runs down that date.
Arteta could end up making a few more signings before the transfer window concludes. It remains to be seen what more changes can the gaffer bring to the Emirates next season.
