Arsenal: Mikel Arteta heartbroken as they lose out on top 4

Arsenal Team

Arsenal have found themselves in the Europa League after failing to qualify for any of the European Championships last season. However, they would be disappointed as they had the driving seat for the Champions League. In fact, Arsenal had a decent lead and could have got top 4 if they had beaten Tottenham. Moreover, the loss to Newcastle ensured that Arsenal remained out of the top 4. And the nail in the coffin was Tottenham winning their final game 5-0 and gaining Champions League football.

Mikel Arteta would be disappointed as at one point Arsenal should have had Champions League football. Moreover, they deserved it as they had played some amazing football. However, all this went in vain as they couldn’t get into the top 4.

Arteta is heartbroken

Arteta was disappointed and spoke about the losing top 4.

“Today, I don’t get much, if I’m honest. I’m still in pain. I need the dust to settle, I need to go and get a few days on holiday because I don’t think today I’m going to reflect the season the way it is, But at the same time, I’m very grateful for everybody supporting our club, the way they’re giving us confidence, respect and motivation to drive forward because I think they believe in what we’re doing. But when you have it there – I’m a winner and I hate losing and we lost something we could win. That’s why I’m in pain.”

Arsenal would definitely be sad and disappointed as they could have made a return to a competition they haven’t played since 2017. However, they have become a better team as they have much better morale than before. Moreover, they have been playing much better football this season. Moving on to the next season, Arsenal would be in great hopes for a Champions League finish.
