Arsenal might soon lose out to Newcastle United for Alexander Isak

Arsenal

Arsenal, in recent months, has been strongly linked to Alexander Isak.

However, it now appears that Isak may now be signed by Newcastle as he looks set to leave Real Sociedad this summer.

The London club has already brought in a star striker in the likes of Gabriel Jesus this summer.

The signing of a striker was of utmost importance to Arsenal after Andre Lacazette-their first team striker left on a free transfer.

Moreover, Aubameyang also made a move to Barcelona, at the start of this year.

Therefore, Jesus was a priority signing for the Gunners. However, it is understood that Arsenal is still keen on adding another striker to their ranks.
This would provide a healthy competition to Jesus and at the same time broaden the options for Mikel Arteta.

Though, they were linked to Raheem Sterling and Raphinha from Leeds. Both these players have made their moves to Chelsea and Barcelona respectively.

Therefore, they now remain out of contention with Arsenal.

Here, the name Isak comes up. Isak made his name the previous year- before the Euro and during the Euro Cup.

He showed his talent in his national colors for Sweden in the Euro 2020.

Therefore, it looked to be obvious before any elite team would vouch for him.

Now, Newcastle looks set to sign the youngster. The transfer fee that has been doing the rounds is eye-popping.

Moreover, if Isak is signed at that fee-it would be a record transfer for Newcastle in their history.

Can Alexander Isak prove his worth in the Newcastle colors?

If the Magpies succeed in signing the young talent, it would be worth seeing how he performs in the Premier League.

Being a striker, he still has not bagged a host of goals. However, under the right guidance, he can very well prosper.

Moreover, Arsenal fans also do not regard him highly. They think that for their bid for a top-four finish, Isak would not be very much useful.
