Arsenal legend urges Gunners to sign Douglas Luiz

Arsenal legend Gilberto Silva has Urged Gunners to sign Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz in the summer. Arsenal were linked with Luiz last summer. As reportedly they sent three bids for the midfielder but got rejected.

The 25-year-old has long been linked with a possible move to Arsenal. With the future of Thomas Partey with the Gunners still uncertain. It will generate some profit for Arsenal. There is scope for Arteta to bring in an additional midfield option.

“It would be a brilliant move for Douglas Luiz and the club”: Gilberto Silva

speaking with Chris Wheatley on Shots TV Gilberto Silva said that

“I would say, Douglas Luiz of Aston Villa, I think he can do everything that Rice can do and better. I think he assists more, he chips in with goals more than Rice.

“Creativity-wise he is better, flair is better, he can put in a tackle just like Rice, break up play just like Rice.

“So I think if someone said to me you can have Douglas Luiz for £60m or Declan Rice for £100m, easy every day of the week, Douglas Luiz.”

“He’s progressing, he’s improving and he’s well adapted to the Premier League. He’s proven himself that he can go to the next level.

But he is proving that he can and is doing a great job and I’m happy to see another Brazilian come to the league and they are doing a great job.

I really enjoy it when the Brazilian players come to the Premier League, which for me is still the most difficult league to play in, especially for South Americans to come and adapt well.

“Why not to Arsenal next season? It would be a great move for him and the club.”

We also agree with Gilberto Silva he is saying right. Arsenal need depth in the midfield if they want to win the title. Or maybe challenge for the Premier League.

A striker is also thought to be on the agenda for Arsenal this summer, and a deal that expensive may leave little wriggle room elsewhere.
