Arsenal legend Alan Smith has said that Gabriel Magalhaes gets too emotional against big teams. Hence, the Gunners have to pay the price for it.

ARSENAL LEGEND NOT HAPPY WITH THE PERFORMANCE OF GABRIEL MAGALHAES
Arsenal legend Alan Smith has said that Gabriel Magalhaes makes too many mistakes in the games against top clubs. He has also said that Gabriel gets too emotional. Hence, he plays the game by heart and not mind. The Gunners legend Ian Wright has also made the same argument. He has also held Magalhaes responsible for the Grealish goal to make it 2-1.
The Arsenal legend Alan Smith further said, “Gabriel would be a concern for Arteta in the future. He can be so emotional on these occasions and that can affect his game,’. ‘If you look at Saliba, you hardly notice him because he’s so calm. He does the simple things really effectively. Whereas Gabriel catches the eye for a number of reasons and I think it’s something Arteta will consider if he can rely on him going into these big games. That’s an issue for Arsenal I think.’
THE GUNNERS NEED TO GIVE THE CHANCE TO JAKUB KIWIOR OR ROB HOLDING
Alan Smith has also said that Arsenal should try a risk and give Rob Holding the chance. However, a chance to Jakub Kiwior is too big a risk at the moment. Therefore, it looks like the place of Gabriel Magalhaes in the team is not in danger. Alan Smith has also said that the club should look into the matter in the next summer transfer window.
Alan Smith further said, “We’ve been speaking for a long time about bringing in a striker and a central midfielder, but I think perhaps centre back is another area to focus on.’ Hence, it is clear that Gunners have room for improvement with the current team. Although, it is also clear that Gabriel is a very important part of them for present and future.
This is because he has signed a contract extension with Arsenal in the January transfer window. Hence, Jakub Kiwior and Rob Holding will have to wait for their big opportunities. However, at the moment , it looks Mikel Arteta will play Gabriel Magalhaes along with Saliba in the center-back.
