Arsenal eyeing a move for Luka Jovic as the Dusan Vlahovic alternative

About Football Express UK

After failing to break a deal for Fiorentina star Dusan Vlahovic, Arsenal has reportedly set their attention on Real Madrid forward Luka Jovic as per the report in English outlet The Sun.

The 24-years-old signed for Los Blancos back in 2019 for around £53 million from the German side Eintracht Frankfurt. However, the movie hasn’t been a great success for the Serbia international. As he has struggled to showcase his best since arriving at the Spanish capital, scoring a solitary goal and assisting two times in 11 appearances in La Liga this season.

According to the report, Luka Jovic could be available on a short term loan for Arsenal to help them during this short-term crisis. Both clubs have a good relationship after doing several businesses in recent years which could help the Gunners to make a deal in this January transfer window.

The report further claims that the Serbia international is eager to showcase his talent in the Premier League. And he would like to join the North London club for the next six months.

Will Luka Jovic be a good fit for Arsenal?

Signing Luka Jovic could appear to be a very good addition for Arsenal. The forward showed his talent during his time in Bundesliga. And the North Londoners will be hoping that he can replicate the same performance. If the Gunners hierarchy can break a deal for the 24-years-old.

However, the striker has failed miserably in the Spanish league. And it will be interesting to see if he will struggle in the English top-flight or not. With Aubameyang seemingly having played his last game, Lacazette and Nketiah’s contract will end at the end of this season. Mikel Arteta’s side is in desperate need of a new striker.

They wanted to sign Dusan Vlahovic from Fiorentina. But, the player wasn’t keen on moving to the Emirates Stadium. Therefore, Arsenal had to shift their attention elsewhere.

So, it will be interesting to see if Jovic could be the right option or not for the north London club. Players displaying excellent performance in Bundesliga and failing to replicate the same performance in a different league has become very common in recent times. Therefore, signing a player who is short in confidence might not be the right decision from the Gunners hierarchy. Given they are desperate for a quick solution.
