Arsenal defender arrives in France for medical ahead of loan move

Arsenal

Arsenal defender Nuno Tavares has reached Marseille to complete his medicals ahead of his loan move to the club earlier today.

The documents have been approved for the move to take place and the player is all set to don the Marseille outfit. The left-back joined Arsenal last season but could not make the cut in the first team setup under Mikel Arteta.

Now, Tavares is looking to find minutes as a regular in the French league in the loan move this season. His contract will run till the summer of 2023 and will return to Arsenal with hopes to continue at Emirates.

Arsenal defender joins Marseille

Mikel Arteta on many occasions has not used the defender and has mostly kept him on the sidelines. Unable to break through in the squad, the player has been frustrated with not getting minutes at Arsenal last season.

In an interview, he explained his move and what he could bring to the club.

He said-

It’s because you have a good project. Young people, it’s good for me and we learn together, because we can understand together and we can have an evolution together with the young guys.

It’s the same. It’s a good project with young guys and we understand each other.

It’s good for my career and to begin at Arsenal is a big club, and I’m very happy.

The player even described his style of play by saying-

I am fast, I am good at shooting with my right foot, but I’m left-footed. I can dribble, improvising. That’s my qualities, my technique. I have more qualities and I will find more in this club.

Surely, the player will hope to be effective with the French club and make his comeback next year with Arsenal.
