Where can Andreas Christensen earn a starting XI position?

About Football Express UK

Andreas Christensen is one of many players at Chelsea with a pending contract renewal. He is reportedly one of the lowest earners in the squad.

Christensen recently spoke to a Danish media outlet(BT). With perspective to his contract renewal, he said ” hopefully soon. I do not know why everyone thinks it is a bad situation,” he added. “I’m still happy and I enjoy playing football.” The Danish international himself is unaware of his future.

According to The Telegraph, the new contract renewal did not happen because of the last-minute change.

Let’s take a look at where Andreas Christensen can definitely start.

Andreas Christensen has appeared 23 times in 32 games for Chelsea. While this does not sound impressive, it is in comparison to the prior season. Since Thiago Silva was injured, Christensen filled in for him and has played absolutely well.

According to Fichajes, Atletico Madrid are interested in Andreas Christensen. Diego Simeone wants to bring him because of fear of a last-minute transfer hunt. This can happen due to the long term future of Savic and Felipe.

Hypothetically speaking, if Chelsea will let go of Christensen, it won’t be for a cheap fee. The smaller teams of the league cannot even fathom buying him. But FC Barcelona and Real Madrid can.

Joan Laporta has made promises to take the club from financial ruin. Though Barcelona cannot compete for Haaland, they can try for Christensen. If Barca let go of a few players then they can definitely get the Danish international.

Barcelona has a leaky and inconsistent defence, especially this season. The likes of Christensen would definitely help them.

Whereas in the case of Real Madrid, the Madridistas will look to improve their depth. Despite losing Ramos, they have Nacho Fernandez and Militao. They recently also signed Alaba from Bayern who can also play as a CB.

Madrid can definitely look to sign either Rudiger or Christensen from Chelsea. Whether Christensen can start at Madrid, is a question worth pondering.

But the Danish international can definitely start for the aforementioned clubs, especially Barcelona. Since the Culers require defensive reinforcements. This can only happen if either Chelsea let go of him for a low transfer fee.
