AC Milan looking to sign Alexandre Lacazzete from Arsenal?

Arsenal Team

AC Milan are reportedly looking to sign Arsenal forward Alexandre Lacazzete in January.

The French International has a contract with Arsenal till June. Previously the Arsenal board stated that they will remove anything and anyone which will hinder the youngster’s development. They are prioritising the future more than the present.

This means nothing but dismay for Lacazzete because Odegaard is playing in his position more often now.

According to Calciomercato, AC Milan are monitoring his situation and are keen to bring him in January. Barcelona, Atletico Madrid are other clubs feigning interest in Lacazzete.

Lacazzete has made 97 goal contributions in 186 appearances for Arsenal ever since he moved in 2017.

The  Rise and Fall of mighty AC Milan. How did it happen?

Once upon a time, AC Milan were arguably the best and dominant team in Europe. They have fallen from the top. The Rossoneri last won the league in 2011, they last won the Champions League in 2007. Many factors led to the downfall of the club.

Amongst the major factors is debt and lack of a good owner. Silvio Berlusconi was a great owner and under his ownership, The Rossoneri won many trophies. But things started going downhill after he started paying more attention to political matters. Silvio stopped investing in the club which resulted in huge amounts of debt.

After Silvio, Li Yonghong bought the club in 2017 but his ownership was short-lived. After Li failed to pay the loan, current owners, Elliott Management, took over AC Milan.

Unfortunately, the money which Elliott Management and Li spent was too much, the club’s books were not managed properly hence they were banned from European football.

The club is now financially stable under Elliott Management but they also suffered in failed transfers. They were very ambitious and spent lots of money on players.

When they were in financial turmoil, they had to sell many players. The Rossoneri had to replace great players like Ibrahimovic, Thiago Silva, Kevin Prince with average players. Even when they spent big on players like Andre Silva, Paqueta, Piatek and Bonucci, none of them hit the mark.

As of now, they are improving slowly. They showed great performances last season and qualified for the champions league after a long time. AC Milan struggled to find a replacement for Zlatan in the past, in the end, they replaced Zlatan with Zlatan. Ibrahimovic himself is in great form and is showing no signs of slowing down.

The club has great youngsters as well and is also financially stable.
